In a recent article by Mark Viers the pros and cons to 3D Laminate and HPL Doors are highlighted. After reading the article 3D Laminate is definitely the way to go when considering options for cabinetry. HPL does have its benefits, such as its ready availability and the fact that it can be used for kitchen counter tops. However, the labor involved in producing HPL doors is exhausting just to read about, much less to actually do. It also takes up an excessive amount of space in cabinet shops. By outsourcing and purchasing 3D laminate thermofoil doors made with a vacuum press, the shop owner will inevitably save time money and space. Also, laminating allows for specialized profiles and can be used as a replacement for veneer doors. This factor can only improve sales, since everyone loves variety! Currently, an astounding 8% of kitchens in North America use 3D laminates while in Europe it is in over 65%. I have to agree with Viers, eventually 3D laminate thermofoil doors will catch on here in America. I just hope it’s sooner rather than later!
Aristocratic Cabinets is a company that has been around for thirty years and takes great pride in their ability to produce quality products. Quality seems to be the primary focus of the president of the company, Larry Walker, whatever the cost. Their investments in today’s newest technologies are a great contributor to Aristocratic’s continued success.
The company is now using Microvellum software which enables them to have greater efficiency and accuracy in a wide range of areas. An employee can input all of the dealer orders into Microvellum, which will produce a complete bill of materials, downloads machining instruction to the CNC equipment, and transfers part sizes to Ardis software for optimization. Another more advanced piece of machinery used is the Almex Thermofoil Press. It is used by the company for smaller quantity orders of foil doors. Aristocratic Cabinets will produce an order that will surpass standards and expectations whether it is small or large or even custom. They achieve this through the combination of the accuracy provided by state-of-the-art technology and the skill and dedication of their employees.
Rapha Systems is a new company out of Austria that provides original solutions for Almex’s every day consumer. The cooperation of these two companies has combined fresh ideas with years of experience ultimately resulting in greater product efficiency for the customer. Working together, Almex and Rapha Systems successfully developed and introduced an automatic pinsystem, the SmartPin System. This system has been integrated with the Almex Membrane Press making the pressing process quicker. The system itself is affordable and the ability to increase production will allow users to turn a greater profit.
Rapha Systems offers systems for cleaning the backsides of boards and de-grating edges, systems that are suitable for small to large-scale production. They sell a variety of foil handling systems, silicone and natural rubber membranes of the highest quality, and pinsystems to satisfy all sorts of Pressing needs. Almex was proud to make the Membrane Press a part of such an incredible product line-up. Rapha Systems being established worldwide in 2000 is still so new but their innovation is unmatched in this market, joining together with them was the best move Almex could make.
